About Us
Little Cherubs is a day nursery on Penlline Road in Whitchurch, Cardiff. We provide high-quality care for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.
Our Aim
Here at Little Cherubs, we feel that childcare should promote security, self-esteem and develop warm and positive relationships. We aim to create a very homely environment for the children in our nursery. Play is not only crucial to the way children become self-aware and the way in which they learn social behaviour, it is also fundamental to intellectual development. Young children learn most effectively when they are actively encouraged in first hand experiences.
Quality childhood care and education will develop self-esteem, confidence and later learning. We support parents as the child's primary carer and first educator through mutual respect. We share information about the child's care, development and educational activities.

Famly app
We share your child’s day with you via the secure Famly app. This is where you can access your child’s daily diary, observations and photos. We know that children become more engaged learners when activities are of interest to them, therefore parents are encouraged to share their child’s interests frequently with their child’s key worker allowing them to be incorporated into their day. The Famly app ensures that communication with parents is at the heart of our ethos.

Our Rooms
Our day care nursery has dedicated rooms for each age group, ranging from the Butterflies room (6 weeks to 17 months) all the way up to the Caterpillars room for kids aged 3 to 5 years. We also have a large outdoor area.

Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme (CHaSPS)
We are part of the Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme (CHaSPS). This is a national accreditation scheme recognising pre-school settings’ commitment to children’s health and well-being. Pre-school settings are awarded for promoting physical, mental, social and emotional health, helping give your child the best start in life.
A CHaSPS pre-school setting will:
- Promote the health and wellbeing of the children, families and staff
- Encourage physical activities
- Promote healthy nutritious food and provide water and milk to drink to look after teeth
- Learn about how to look after and care for the environment
- Learn about being safe in our community in a fun way
- Encourage good hygiene
- Commit to developing healthy relationships
- Encourage the children to explore their emotions and feelings
The scheme helps us to promote the health and wellbeing of the whole nursery. We are proud to say we have achieved this award in full and have also passed our 3 year re-accreditation with our gold certificate and full CHaSPS status.

Little Cherubs stood out from the beginning compared to the other nurseries we viewed; happy, loving, warm and very much the homely feeling we were looking for. Our eldest has been going for nearly 3 years and our youngest for just over a year, and we couldn’t recommend this nursery enough. Our daughter Olivia has been attending Little Cherubs since she was 11 months old, after joining in May 2021. During that time she has progressed from the baby room to the toddler room and has loved each of her key workers, all of whom have often gone above and beyond.
